What should the customer know about your pricing?
I charge $40/hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new client?
We exchange emails and get set up on Skype. I learn what the needs are and review any materials. We make a plan of attack and then schedule when to meet.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My degree was very literature intensive. I not only wrote at a high academic level but also critically analyzed literature. One of my academic works was even published.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to help those around me who were struggling. I started tutoring even when I was just 15 years old out of a desire to help.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Every kind! I am happy to say. I have worked from elementary students all the way up to adults. I normally work with students on the verge of or just in high school. I welcome everyone.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am learning Russian. It is an ongoing project. This has helped me empathize with my students who struggle to form their thoughts. I am learning a lot about how English grammar works as well while trying to understand everything in Russian.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Not every student is the same. Look for someone who speaks the language of the client through carefully asked questions. Only a sympathetic teacher can be an effective one.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Where are the problems?
What have you tried in the past?
Can the student be pushed or are they sensitive to pressure?
